For Dennis Quaid, living in Nashville is more essential.
The “Further Than Heaven” actor, 72, revealed the real reason he and his wife Laura Savoie, 33, left their longtime home in Los Angeles and moved to Tennessee in 2020.
“It used to be a great town, and it was great in the ’90s,” Quaid told FOX News Digital at CMA Fest over the weekend.
He added that L.A. has been “going downhill” lately and “people feel like they’re paying taxes without getting any services.”
Quaid explained that the 2025 wildfires exposed “all the things that are going on and need to be addressed.”
At the time, Quaid was forced to evacuate his home in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood.
More than 18,000 homes and structures were destroyed in the fire, and 31 people were killed.
“People are like that. The truth is, people are angry, half angry, half resigned,” Quaid continued on the show.
The Parent Trap star, who describes himself as “one of the thousands” who fled the City of Angels, insisted he truly “wants the city to come back.”
“I really think so. It used to be a really great town. It was. It was also a great community. And something happened. People need to be inspired there.”
Quaid also expressed his opinion on the Los Angeles mayoral race, saying, “I hope Pratt wins.”
Previously, on the show, when asked why he supported the reality star’s mayoral bid in America’s second-largest city in May, Quaid retorted, “Why? What are you talking about? Why? Just look around you.”
But as of Monday night, the top two candidates advancing to the November runoff are incumbent Mayor Karen Bass and Nithya Raman.
Pratt, 42, has not yet commented on his current position in the race.
The Pacific Palisades home of “The Hills” alum and his wife Heidi Montag was one of many destroyed in the devastating fire.
