Alex Cooper has denied that she and husband Matt Kaplan are having marital problems, following rumors that they were on the verge of breaking up.
Cooper, who is pregnant with her first child, addressed the rumors head-on on Wednesday’s episode of her podcast, “Call Her Daddy.” Cooper opened up about her and Calpin’s red carpet appearance at the 2026 YouTube Upfront last month, saying she was worried people would find out she was pregnant. But all anyone was talking about was their marital status.
“The only thing that really came out of the carpet was how miserable my husband and I looked,” Cooper said. “I saw people over-analyzing Matt and I when we were seriously trying to hide this pregnancy, and I was so relieved that they were talking about our relationship dynamic and maybe problems in our marriage and no one was talking about potential conflict.”
She added, “That day was a victory for the Cooper-Kaplans.”
Cooper, 31, insisted he and Kaplan, 42, were not on the verge of breaking up.
“You read those things, but Matt and I don’t think anyone in our lives, our closest friends, our family, has ever questioned those things,” she said.
“It’s crazy that the internet would be like, ‘Oh my god, they’re at a loss,’ and we’d be like, ‘Wait, wait. What’s going on?'” she continued, “I think that’s the weird part of the job that I don’t enjoy.”
Cooper said fans need not worry about her and her husband, stating candidly that they are “amazing.”
The couple tied the knot in Mexico in April 2024. The Daily Mail reported last month that the couple’s marriage was “strained” and they were sleeping in separate bedrooms.
Sources told the outlet that “tension” between Kaplan and Cooper had been running high even before a bombshell Bloomberg report published in April accused Kaplan and Cooper of verbally abusing and threatening staff at their production company, Unwell Network.
Sources said Cooper was struggling to deal with the fallout from the accusations against her husband.
“This is Alex Cooper’s biggest fear: bad press,” the source claimed. “That’s important to her. She always wants to control the narrative. She’s insecure and all ferocious. She doesn’t really have that many friends.”
Although the couple did not address the rumors at the time, fans were shocked when Cooper announced her pregnancy on May 17th. The podcast host posted a photo of her glowing on Instagram showing off her growing baby bump, captioning it: “Our family 🤍.”
