Kai Trump is under fire for removing boos from an Instagram post he posted about watching the New York Knicks with his grandfather Donald Trump.
However, the company that made the post has now announced that it has been edited.
Kai, 19, joined the president at Madison Square Garden on Monday night to watch Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
After the game, Kai posted a clip of himself and his grandfather during the national anthem on social media with the caption, “Thank you 15SOF for capturing this special moment with my grandpa.”
However, she was quickly slammed by critics, who claimed that she had altered the audio and turned boos from the crowd into cheers.
One said: “Your face says it all LOL!! Grandpa and you got booed,” while another wrote: “She replaced the audio.”
This is not true, Page Six is told.
The post was made by the company Kai mentioned called 15 Seconds of Fame.
It uses AI software to identify when a user is on a jumbotron or other screen in a stadium or arena and send a clip.
We’re told that Kai, Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump’s eldest daughter, had no involvement in changing the audio, as the company makes edits before sending.
“The video that Kai Trump shared on Instagram was the very clip that 15SOF distributed to her account on our app, and at no time did she request that the audio be altered, enhanced, replaced, or otherwise manipulated,” a company spokesperson told Page Six.
“Due to various broadcast, licensing, and contractual restrictions, 15SOF is often unable to deliver original event audio and instead utilizes automated alternative contextual audio tracks as part of the content delivery process. The audio selection process is fully automated and not directed by individual users.”
“As with all the videos we share with users around the world, whether it’s epic, historic, or (in this case, as Trump described it) ‘throwback’ moments between granddaughter and grandfather, we’re proud to bring these fleeting moments to our fans and preserve memories that would otherwise be lost forever.”
