Vice President J.D. Vance’s circle has grown even larger.
The politician’s wife, Usha Vance, gave birth to the couple’s fourth child, a boy named Alec Neil Vance.
“We are thrilled to announce the birth of our baby boy, Alec Neil Vance, this morning. Usha and baby are happy and healthy, and our children are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” the couple said in a statement on Instagram on Sunday.
“We are blessed by the wonderful military doctors and staff at Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Corps,” added Usha and JD.
“We are deeply grateful for everything they have done for our family.”
JD and his second woman, who married in 2014, started a family three years later with son Ewan, who was born in June 2017.
In February 2020, Ewan became an older brother with the arrival of his younger brother Vivek.
The following year, in December 2021, my younger sister Mirabel was born.
In November 2025, JD (41) and Usha (40) announced in a joint Instagram post that they were expecting another son.
“We are so excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” they wrote at the time. “Usha and the baby are doing well. We are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”
They detailed an “exciting and busy time” and added: “We are especially grateful to the military doctors who have looked after our family with such care.”
They also thanked the “staff members who work so hard to enable (them) to serve their country while enjoying a wonderful life with their children.”
This revelation comes soon after Usha was spotted in public without her wedding ring, sparking divorce speculation.
Her publicist explained the absence of sparklers in a statement to People magazine.
“She is a mother of three young children, cooks a lot and gives them many baths, but sometimes she forgets her ring,” Usha’s representative said at the time.
In a speech in Michigan in March, J.D. joked that convincing his wife to have another child “took a lot of convincing,” after previously claiming his wife was either “going to be vice president or having a fourth child.”
Usha, who met her husband while attending Yale Law School, confirmed to NBC News the same month that she “never closed the door” on becoming pregnant again.
“I didn’t really understand,” she told the magazine. “But as time went on, I found myself becoming more and more excited about the possibilities.”
