According to his son, Stephen McVeigh Jr., Steve McVeigh Sr. will be home for the holidays.
The “McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” star, 32, said McBee Sr., 54, will be released by FPC Yankton in South Dakota on Sept. 11. This comes less than a year after he was sentenced to two years in prison.
“He’s less than 60 days old right now,” McVie Jr. told Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” earlier this week. “He’s doing great. He’s ready to go home, he’s ready to see his grandkids, he’s ready to make us dinner.”
McBee Sr. pleaded guilty in 2024 to one count of crop insurance fraud. In October 2025, he was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison and ordered to pay more than $4 million in restitution. The father of four surrendered to a prison in Yankton, South Dakota, on December 1, 2025.
Before reporting to prison last year, McBee Sr. “met with a pardon attorney,” he told People. He also received advice from “Chrisley Knows Best” alumnus Todd Chrisley, who along with his wife Julie Chrisley received a full pardon and early release in May 2025. The couple was previously convicted in 2022 of conspiracy to commit bank fraud, wire fraud and tax evasion.
McVie Sr. hasn’t appeared on McVie Dynasty full-time since his legal troubles began, but McVie Jr. said he’s continuing his third season on the Bravo show from prison.
“He actually watches the show and it’s really funny,” McVie Jr. told VRT, joking that his father “gets the heat” from girlfriend Masha Petrova.
The drama surrounding the women in McBee Sr.’s life continues to be a hot topic on “McBee Dynasty,” even without him on the show. The former chief financial officer of McBee Farm and Cattle Company, Galina Saltkowska,’s relationship with Petrova, a former close friend, has caused a lot of tension within the family and the business over the past two seasons.
But he and Petrova still seem to be going strong.
“What he tells us changes and what he tells Marsha. We don’t get clear answers from him,” McVie Jr. said. “My belief is, yes, they are in this together.”
It seems that the head of the family will have to give some kind of explanation when he returns to Japan within two months.
“McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys” airs Mondays at 9pm ET on Bravo. New episodes can also be streamed the next day on Peacock.
