Scopely will begin a collaboration with the mobile game “Monopoly GO!”. And on December 10th, the Harry Potter film series, owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, will be released, bringing characters, collectibles, mini-games and more from the Wizarding World to the original and captivating Monopoly adventure.
According to the in-game Harry Potter event description, “When Mr. Monopoly passes through the portal and passes platform 9 3/4, he is transported to the Wizarding World, where the board becomes a landscape of familiar Harry Potter settings, including Gringotts Wizarding Bank, the Forbidden Forest, and, of course, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”
“Along the way, he will meet familiar faces such as Harry Potter himself, as well as Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Rubeus Hagrid. The cast of characters is expanded with a new sticker album featuring 23 sets of characters and creatures from the franchise. Each set tells a story, and some sets include surprise Easter eggs from the books and movies.”
Additional features in the limited-time in-game update include a racing mini-game on a Quidditch broomstick or Gringotts cart, hidden collectible artifacts such as the Philosopher’s Stone, and unlockable themed tokens, emojis, dice, and shields that allow players to proudly display their Hogwarts home. Seasonal maps include Hogwarts Castle, Diagon Alley, and the holiday-themed village of Hogsmeade.

The collaboration comes as Warner Bros. Discovery ramps up promotion for the new Harry Potter series on HBO. The upcoming show is a retelling of seven JK Rowling books that Warner Bros. made into eight films between 2001 and 2011. The new HBO series stars Dominic McLaughlin as the titular boy and is joined by a solid ensemble cast of new and veteran actors. Season 1 is currently being filmed in the UK and is expected to be released in 2027.
The Harry Potter-themed Monopoly Go! version will be available for free download on iOS and Android from December 10th to February 4th.
