The real reason for Jelly Roll and Bunny Zoe’s shocking divorce was due to a conflict between the country singer’s religious leanings and his wife’s more risqué past, a new report claims.
“There’s just such a contradiction in what’s going on. He’s preaching this Christian way of life, and she’s posing almost naked on her podcast and talking about porn and penises,” a source told the Daily Mail on Tuesday, referring to Bunny’s “Dumb Blonde” podcast.
“She’s just embarrassing him at every turn and ruining any PR story they’re trying to create. This is the talk of the town[in Nashville],” the source continued.
It’s no secret that the “Save Me” singer, 41, is becoming more vocal about his faith.
In February, he opened his acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country Album at the Grammy Awards with a tearful Jesus cry, before praising Bunny, 46, for saving his life.
“First of all, Jesus, I hear your voice, and I’m listening, Lord. I’m listening, Lord. Secondly, I want to thank my beautiful wife. Without you, I would never have changed my life. I would have been dead or in jail. If it wasn’t for you and Jesus, I would have killed myself. Thank you for that,” he said at the time.
Still, one source claims that the artist is not entirely sure of his identity as a born-again Christian, and that it is “just an act” done by the singer because there is “a lot of money” in Christian music.
“He saw there was a lot of money in this market and told Bunny to collect it. But she won’t stay in line and that’s destroying his brand,” a source told the outlet.
“She just wants to be who she is. She was an escort, she was in porn, she was validated by being in a G-string, she got an audience. That was her life, and now all of a sudden he’s a preacher and she’s a preacher’s wife.”
Representatives for Jelly Roll and Bunny Zoe did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The “Son of a Sinner” hitmaker, whose real name is Jason Bradley Deford, filed for divorce from his wife on May 18 after nearly 10 years of marriage, it was revealed on Monday.

Jelly Roll and Bunny (real name Alisa Andrea Carter) secretly married at a Las Vegas courthouse in August 2016, just a year after they met at the country singer’s concert.
They were married on the same night that Jelly Roll proposed. In 2023, they renewed their vows.
The latest update reports that a moving truck was spotted outside the estranged couple’s apartment complex in Tennessee on Monday.
However, it remains unclear whose items were being removed from the premises.
Given the timing, this breakup may come as a shock to some. In January, Bunny revealed how she and Jelly Roll were trying to have a baby through IVF.
