Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are reportedly back together after breaking up in September. In recent weeks, the pair have been spotted holding hands in Scotland and Croatia. A source told Us Weekly that the two “fell back” to their romance “very naturally.”
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes have restarted their three-year romance, multiple sources tell Us Weekly. After they broke up in September, they were spotted holding hands in Dubrovnik, Croatia on November 7, sparking rumors that they were getting back together. A source told Us Weekly shortly after the sighting that the pair were spotted looking “very much in love” in Edinburgh, Scotland, a few weeks ago. (Stokes is currently filming the next season of Netflix’s Outer Banks in Croatia.)
A source told Us Weekly today that the reconciliation was a natural decision. “Kelsey and Chase are giving their relationship another shot. There’s still a lot of love left in their relationship, so it came very naturally.”
Over the weekend, a source revealed to Entertainment Tonight that the couple has been on and off privately for the past few months, saying, “They really want things to work out, but Kelsey is a little hesitant about coming back full time.”
When Ballerini’s rep first confirmed the split in September, a source close to the couple told People magazine, “They’re two adults who tried their best and tried their best to make things work, but in the end they just couldn’t. That’s what happens.”
On September 22nd, a source added further context, telling Us Weekly that Ballerini “initiated” talk of their breakup. “It was an acrimonious breakup,” the source said. “They’ve been arguing a lot lately, but their communication hasn’t been great over the last month. They’ve both been traveling a lot and trying to juggle everything, so there’s been a lot of arguing.”
The source added that they were “mature adults who both understood that they needed space,” adding that there was “still a lot of love between them” and that they were just “very busy at the moment.”
In early July, Ballerini told Us Weekly about her relationship with Stokes, “I think we’re very similar. And in a different way, that’s where we challenge each other…I just wish him all the good things in the world.”
Stokes echoed that sentiment in a birthday tribute to Ballerini, posted just days before the first news of their breakup broke. He wrote, “You keep saying you’re not excited about 32, but I just want to say I’m looking forward to so much more. Happy Birthday, my love ❤️.”
