Tom Holland revealed in an interview with Esquire that he secretly married Zendaya, referring to the fake AI wedding photos. He told the outlet that there was no need to contact his family about the images because “everyone was there[at the real wedding].” Zendaya first sparked marriage rumors in February 2026.
Zendaya and Tom Holland actually secretly married. Holland confirmed the news in an interview with Esquire UK. He was talking about a fake AI wedding photo that went viral online in March, and how his grandmother contacted him about it. The reporter asked if similar conversations needed to be had with other families.
The actor paused and replied, “No, because everyone was there.” The reporter said he did not know the wedding had already taken place. Holland replied, “That’s all you can do.”
He was more candid in his praise of Zendaya, calling her his best friend and human being.
“Our business can create very stressful situations, but it’s really great to have a foundation of relationships that stand the test of time,” he explained. “We can support each other in a way that only we can, because we’re the only ones who really understand what it means to live this life. I think that’s such a luxury, because I don’t understand how you can do that with other people. So for me, I’m the person that I am. She’s my best friend and I’ve never felt so supported and safe when I’m with her. Maybe it was when I was younger with my parents and my dad picked me up from school. I wouldn’t say our relationship is similar to my mom and dad.
Holland’s confirmation comes months after the actress’ longtime stylist Law Roach sparked marriage rumors at the Actor Awards in March, telling Access Hollywood, “The wedding already happened. You missed it.”
When asked by a reporter from the same media if that was true, he laughed and replied, “That’s true.”
Zendaya has been wearing the gold band since February, but in an interview for ELLE’s Summer 2026 cover, she said she doesn’t confirm the marriage rumors. “No, I don’t mean that,” she said. “They (the internet) are always looking for something.”
The actress revealed her engagement to Holland in January 2025 by wearing an East-West diamond engagement ring at the Golden Globe Awards. Rumors of marriage first surfaced on February 17, 2026, when the couple was photographed wearing a gold band on their left ring finger in Beverly Hills.
Roach told Complex in May 2025 that Zendaya and Holland would keep their marriage private. “She and Tom have been very private about their relationship,” he explained. “They’re trying to be as private as possible. It’s not going to be in Vogue, there’s not going to be any wedding photos, and the people she’s inviting will be very respectful of their privacy, so it’s going to be a really beautiful dress that no one will see.”
In late December 2025, Zendaya spoke about her reasons for keeping her private life in an interview with her The Drama co-star Robert Pattinson, explaining that it was partly for herself and partly for her career.
“What I admire about you is that you keep so much of your life to yourself, which is a beautiful thing, especially having a family,” she began, referring to Pattinson and his partner Suki Waterhouse’s daughter. “I’m learning how to balance those things. At the end of the day, you’re a public figure, so there’s nothing you can do. But some things are for yourself and your loved ones, and then you can also consider the space between your anonymity. That way you can play someone else and not necessarily let them in all the time.” I mean, we just talked about being eloquent. I’m stumbling over my words here, trying to explain what I’m trying to say. But I try to be honest with myself in public, not just in character, but in real life.”
However, Holland and Zendaya have been dating for over 10 years and have been dating since 2021. They have occasionally paid tribute to each other in public, and in interviews both have described their relationship as “sacred.”
In June 2023, Holland told The Hollywood Reporter, “Our relationship is something that we value incredibly and we want to keep it as sacred as possible. We don’t feel like we owe anyone anything. It’s ours and it has nothing to do with our careers.”
