Rosalia kept her love life mostly private, but her love life was intertwined with the evolution of her music. The Spanish artist’s confirmed romances include a brief courtship with Euphoria star Hunter Schaefer and a relationship with Puerto Rican singer Rau Alejandro. Rosalía has recently been linked to Jeremy Allen White of The Bear and German musician and actor Emilio Sacraya.
Rosalia’s personal life has attracted almost as much attention as her experimental flamenco pop music. Although she carefully guards her personal life, she has had romantic relationships with several different entertainers over the years. Speaking to ELLE for our August cover story, the Spanish artist opened up about how her past relationships have helped her grow. “I’m grateful to everyone in my life who helped me find myself,” she said.
Fans will get a glimpse of Rosalía’s romance when her fourth studio album, Lux, is released on November 7th. The project will explore “the emotional arc of female mystique, transformation, and transcendence,” Rolling Stone said in a statement. Ahead, learn more about the Motomami singer’s dating history.
C. Tangana
Rosalía’s early successes coincided with a creative and personal connection with Spanish rapper/producer C. Tangana. The two were rumored to have started dating in the mid-2010s, around the time their 2016 hit Antes de Morirme was released. Their relationship was part of the background for Rosalía’s breakout days and the creation of her 2018 album, “El Mal Querer,” which included songs they co-wrote. However, they reportedly split in the year the project was canceled.
Both have kept details of their relationship private, but Tangana later spoke about Rosalía’s global influence and reflected on their respective career trajectories. “I don’t think we are on the same level. Rosalia’s influence is much greater than mine, especially internationally,” he said in a 2024 interview with the Spanish program Lo de Evole.
hunter schafer
In a 2024 GQ feature, Hunter Schaefer revealed that he dated Rosalía for about five months in 2019. The “Euphoria” star admitted that Rosalía gave him permission to talk about his past relationships after “speculations started,” saying, “Part of us just wants it to end, but another part of us is like, ‘Who cares!'” but Schaefer added: “It’s nice to be able to share that, and I think she feels that way too.”
In August, Rosalía told ELLE that she doesn’t feel the need to publicly define her sexuality after Schaefer revealed his relationship history. “No, I don’t put pressure on myself,” she said. “I think about freedom. That’s what guides me.”
It’s unclear how Rosalía and Schaefer first met or why their romance ended, but the two remain close friends and are set to co-star in season 3 of Euphoria. “No matter what, she’s family,” Schaefer told GQ.
Rau Alejandro
Rosalia’s most public relationship was with Puerto Rican singer Rau Alejandro. In a joint interview with Billboard in 2023, the couple said they first met after DMing each other in a Las Vegas hotel lounge during the 2019 Latin Grammy Awards. Alejandro told the magazine that it was “100 percent” love at first sight. They sparked dating rumors in 2021 and confirmed their relationship in September of the same year.
After their first meeting, they collaborated musically, with Rosalia providing vocals on the song “Dille a El” from Alejandro’s 2020 album “Afrodisiaco” and the song “Corazon Despeinado” from his 2022 project “Saturno”. She also helped write the song “Caprichoso,” which appears on Rauw’s 2022 EP, Trap Cake, Vol. 2. That year, Rosalia released the Latin Grammy Award-winning album Motomami, which included the hit song “Chicken Teriyaki,” which Lau helped write.
They took their creative and romantic partnership to the next level in March 2023, releasing their joint EP “RR” and announcing their engagement in the music video for their song “Beso.” The following month, they performed together at Coachella.
However, in July 2023, People magazine reported that the two had ended their engagement and broken up, which the couple has since confirmed. On July 26, Alejandro revealed that they had broken up several months ago and denied that an affair was the reason. “Yes, a few months ago Roshi and I ended our engagement,” he wrote in a lengthy statement published in Billboard. “There are thousands of issues that can cause a breakup, but in our case it wasn’t because of infidelity or a third party.” He continued, “There have been false public allegations and I am deeply sorry for my girlfriend, our family, and the way we have lived together.” Because I have respect for everyone who has been involved, I could not stand by and watch how they tried to destroy the truest love story that God has ever allowed me to live.”
The next day, Rosalía addressed the breakup in an expired post on her Instagram Story. “I love, respect and admire Raul very much,” she wrote in Spanish, according to the LA Times. “These are not easy times, so we appreciate everyone’s understanding and respect.”
jeremy allen white
From late 2023 to 2024, Rosalía was in a relationship with The Bear actor Jeremy Allen White. The two were photographed together several times, eating dinner, going to the farmers market, and kissing. However, the pair never publicly acknowledged their relationship, and by September 2024, it appeared their romance was over, with White being spotted kissing co-star Molly Gordon at the time.
In October 2025, White made unusual comments about the singer during an interview with Ross 40. When asked who his favorite Spanish artist is, he replied, “I love Rosalía, she’s amazing.”
Emilio Sakuraya
In the summer of 2025, Rosalia was spotted getting cozy with German musician and actor Emilio Sacraya, who has appeared in several screen projects, including Netflix’s 2020 series Warrior Nun and the 2024 thriller 60 Minutes. ¡ From April to June, the pair dined in Beverly Hills and kissed in Munich and Barcelona in photos shared by Hola!, but neither has commented on the rumored romance. Although the two have not been seen in public since then, they still follow each other on social media as of November 2025.
In ELLE’s August cover story, Rosalía remained mum about her dating life and relationship with Sakuraya, saying, “I spend hours in the studio. I’m in quarantine.”
