Warner Bros.’ Spanish romantic dramas “All That We Never Were” and “Ask Me What You Want” have signed major sales deals.

International sales agency FilmSharks reports that all North American rights to the romantic drama “All That We Never Were” (“Todo lo que Nunca Fuimos”) have been sold to Berlin-based Capelight Pictures, which also acquired Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Major Russian distributor Nash Kino has acquired the rights to Russia/CIS.

Warner Bros. will release the film directed by Jorge Alonso, starring popular Spanish actor Maxi Iglesias, in Spain on June 6th. The film adaptation also stars Margarida Corceiro (Punto Nemo) and Sebastian Zurita (How to Survive Single).

Shot in San Sebastián, Zumaia, Zarauz, and Madrid, the film revolves around Lia (Corceiro), a young aspiring painter who is recovering from a devastating accident that claimed the lives of her parents.

Media One has snatched up all French-speaking rights to the erotic romance “Ask Me What You Want” (“Pideme lo que quieras”). Blue Swan acquired for Italy. The rest of the world has already been sold.

The drama follows powerful businessman Eric Zimmerman, who, after the death of his father, begins a dangerous and seductive relationship with Judith, a feisty young woman who is drawn into his world of erotic games, hidden secrets, and emotional obsessions.

All That We Never Were is the film adaptation of Alice Kellen’s best-selling novel published by Planeta and produced by Versus Entertainment, Lyo Media and Bixagu Entertainment in association with Elephantech Global and CRE84U, with participation from HBO Max and Warner Bros. Pictures Spain.

This is the first installment of Keren’s best-selling two-part series, “Let It Happen.” Her second book, All That We Are Together, is her second most read novel. She is known for her stories that deal with the universal and crossover themes of love and friendship.

The film is based on Megan Maxwell’s bestselling novel, which has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide, with particularly strong sales in Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina.

The “Ask Me What You Want” adaptation is directed by Lucia Alemany. Produced by Versus Entertainment, LyO Media and 4Cats Pictures in collaboration with Warner Bros. Spain, it will be released across Spain in late 2024.
