Kai Trump gave an update on his mother Vanessa Trump after she underwent surgery as she continues her battle with breast cancer.
“My mom is fine,” the 19-year-old exclusively told Page Six while walking the red carpet at the 2026 ESPY Awards ceremony at Lincoln Center in New York City on Wednesday.
“Her condition is improving,” she added.
Kai seemed optimistic, smiling as he spoke briefly about his mother, 48, at the star-studded event.
The high school graduate, who plans to attend the University of Miami this fall and play golf on the women’s varsity team, wore a gold dress with a high slit for the outing.
Kai accessorized her look with matching heels, a gold cuff, a watch, a diamond necklace, and drop earrings.
Kai also spoke to Page Six about the advice her grandfather, President Donald J. Trump, gave her on the golf course. “Enjoy every moment. It’s going to be tough, but enjoy every moment.”
Regarding legendary golfer Tiger Woods, who Vanessa is dating, Kai said his advice was to “just be yourself and trust the process.”
Meanwhile, in May, Vanessa announced in a lengthy Instagram post that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer.
“This is not the news anyone expected, but I am working closely with my medical team to develop a treatment plan,” she wrote at the time. “I remain focused and hopeful, surrounded by the love and support of my family, children, and those closest to me.”
The former model seemed to be keeping herself together a few weeks later as she was all smiles while shopping with Kai at a mall in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The following month, Vanessa released an update on her journey, revealing that she was on the road to recovery after being knifed.
“For the past four weeks I have been recovering from surgery and am grateful to be healing and moving forward,” she said.
“Soon we will begin the second phase of treatment,” the mother of five added, without elaborating on her next steps.
Page Six exclusively reported that Vanessa’s boyfriend Tiger Woods, who they started dating in early 2025, “remains focused” on being her rock.
“He’s proud of how positive she remains and how she’s handling everything so far,” our source shared. “He truly believes she’s going to be okay because she was so strong. He’s just trying to support her in any way he can right now.”
Vanessa was previously married to Donald Trump Jr. and they have children Donald (17), Tristan (14), Spencer (13) and Chloe (11) with Kai.
