Guillermo Rodriguez is ready to hit the dance floor.
Jimmy Kimmel’s lovable, tequila-fueled, essentially anonymous right-hand man has joined the cast of “Dancing with the Stars” Season 35.
He becomes the latest celebrity contestant to be announced for next season, joining The Traitors and Love Island star Maura Higgins, Summer House’s Ciara Miller and Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson. The full cast of celebrities and professional dancers will be announced on ABC’s “Good Morning America” on September 2nd.
Season 35 of “Dancing with the Stars” will premiere on ABC and Disney+ in September, with episodes airing on Hulu the following day. The long-running dance competition series, hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough, pairs celebrities with trained ballroom dancers to compete in themed, choreographed dance routines. The judges will be Carrie-Anne Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough, and the show will be produced by BBC Studios in front of a live audience.
Robert Irwin and Witney Carson were crowned Season 35 champions, with social media personalities Alix Earle and Val Chmerkovskiy taking second place. Olympic gymnasts Jordan Childs and Ezra Sosa took third place, reality TV personalities Dylan Efron and Daniela Caragazzi took fourth place, and actresses Elaine Hendricks and Alan Bersten took fifth place.
Rodriguez worked on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Over 23 years, he went from parking lot security guard to late-night talk show regular. He was featured nightly with Kimmel and developed his own segment, which included a drunken appearance on the Oscars red carpet.
