Angelia Jolie kicked off her “Couture” press tour in style.
On Wednesday, she was spotted entering New York City’s Whitby Hotel to promote her new film, opting for a classic black strapless dress.
Sweetheart necklines gave way to flowing silhouettes that moved with each strap of the star. Jolie’s dress, designed by Tom Ford and Haider Ackermann, epitomizes the effortlessness of high fashion.
Jolie, 51, accessorized with cascading citrine and yellow gold earrings, completed her look with Bottega Veneta aviator sunglasses and a white Calvin Klein Collection coat, and posed for photographers outside the venue.
The earrings’ provenance is unconfirmed, but they bear a striking resemblance to a pair of bezel-set gemstones that Jolie’s daughter Zahara designed for jeweler Robert Prokop in 2019.
The “Maria” actress has long loved classic black dresses. Who can forget the leg-baring Atelier Versace dress that made headlines at the 2012 Oscars? — and continued to lean toward timeless style while promoting “couture.”
For example, at the film’s Rome Film Festival premiere in October, Jolie opted for a sculptural Alberta Ferretti LBD with cocoon-style cape sleeves.
And for the Couture screening at the San Sebastian Film Festival, she chose a minimal black velvet slip dress by Forte Forte.
Jolie also wore an elegant black two-piece set while playing pickleball with son Pax and daughter Shiloh last week.
Set during Paris Fashion Week, “Couture” follows Jolie, a filmmaker whose life is suddenly turned upside down by a breast cancer diagnosis, a story that seems to reflect Jolie’s own experience with breast cancer.
After her mother died from cancer complications in 2007, Jolie revealed in 2013 that she tested positive for the BRCA1 gene mutation and underwent a preventive double mastectomy.
