Firestorm acquires North American theatrical rights to ‘takeover’

Firestorm Entertainment has acquired North American theatrical rights to Takeover, an adrenaline-pumping action film that fuses hip-hop, street racing, anime aesthetics and gaming culture.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters in Q2 2026.

Directed by Greg Jonkasitis (The Liberator), Takeover brings underground vehicle scenes to life through a blend of live action and stylized animation. The film features original music by Quavo, who also serves as executive producer.

The film stars Quavo alongside Billy Zane, Celaya (MTV’s “Empire”) and Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (“Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Bumblebee”), along with a supporting cast that bridges music, film and gaming cultures.

“Takeover is all about speed, sound and style. The streets, the music and the energy raised us,” Quavo said. “We wanted to create something that looks wild, feels real, and hits like no other. This will light up the theater.”

Developed by Triscope in partnership with Quality Films, the film and television division of Quality Control Music and represented by Courageous Artists, Inc., “Takeover” extends the studio’s signature hybrid storytelling to the world of high-speed street racing and hip-hop culture. Triscope is known for its blend of live-action and animation, as seen in Netflix’s “The Liberator.”

“‘Takeover’ represents everything Firestorm stands for: bold storytelling, authentic culture and crossover energy,” Firestorm Entertainment said. “It is a cinematic experience built as an event, existing at the intersection of film, music, and digital life.”

“‘Takeover’ has always been about capturing the authentic energy of the streets, music and visuals,” said LC Crowley. “We needed a partner that understood that and knew how to reach fans at all levels. Firestorm got just that.”
