A newly released video shows Eric Swalwell wearing a robe and showing misty-eyed vision as he and a group of young women get into chaos on a yacht off the coast of Saint-Tropez, Page Six has learned.
The mysterious footage was posted on social media on Sunday, when Swalwell was first forced to withdraw from the California gubernatorial race and then resign from Congress after being hit by sexual harassment allegations. Mr. Swalwell has denied allegations of sexual misconduct.
But we learned the background behind this amazing footage.
In early September 2022, two of Swalwell’s friends flew on a private plane from Las Vegas to the French Riviera town, where they chartered a 200-foot Ariens yacht and called Swalwell to join them, sources said.
I’m told the now former congressman arrived on a commercial plane and bid on a stunning luxury boat.
We’re told there were four or five men on board, including Swalwell, and a group of beautiful young women.
Our sources said one of the women was a British national, believed to be in her late teens, and appeared to be in a romantic relationship with one of the men in the group. However, the other five or six women were a mix of British and American, slightly older (maybe in their 20s), and seemed unfamiliar with the group and each other.
“Those on the boat were told to keep Mr. Swalwell’s participation in the trip a secret,” said a person familiar with the week-long trip around the French Riviera. “They were told everything remained on the boat.”
The former Bay Area lawmaker had been in Congress for nine years at the time of his escape.
“He didn’t seem like a politician,” said a source familiar with the antics on board the ship. “He looked more like the president of a fraternity group.”
We are told that some of the women were sent back to shore and did not return, while others arrived ‘in their place’.
We’re told the trip had a free-flowing booze, bacchanalian feel, and the group spent the day jet skiing and lounging on the deck.
Officials said they were not specifically aware of Swalwell having any sexual or romantic relationships with the women.
