David and Victoria Beckham have slammed their son Brooklyn’s claims that his sister Harper’s recent impromptu visit to Los Angeles was staged, according to new reports.
In an article published Sunday, family sources dismissed the earlier claims by Brooklyn’s representatives, telling The Sun that they were “obviously nonsense.”
Representatives for Brooklyn, Nicola, and the Beckhams did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
As Page Six exclusively reported on Friday, Brooklyn’s 14-year-old sister was spotted visiting her estranged brother’s Los Angeles home – where he lives with wife Nicola Peltz – shortly after celebrating her father’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But sadly her efforts were in vain, and sources say Harper left the premises upon arrival without meeting Brooklyn.
The source added that Brooklyn and his wife were unable to be reached. Brooklyn later shared via her Instagram Story that she was in New York when her sister showed up.
Still, a representative for the couple told Page Six: “The fact that there was a cameraman on the scene when the letter was handed out tells us everything. This was staged for the cameras.”
Mr Harper’s visit comes months after the 27-year-old chef declared on social media that he “doesn’t want to reconcile with his family” in bombshell statements, claiming his mother had hijacked his first dance with Nicola at her 2022 wedding and that the coverage of his famous family was “controlled in the press”.
“I’m not being controlled. I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life,” he said at the time.
“My parents have always controlled the media coverage of our family with performative social media posts, family affairs, and fake relationships.…Recently, I saw with my own eyes the lengths to which they put countless lies into the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, in order to keep up appearances.”
Considering Brooklyn’s statement, it’s also not surprising that he refused to attend his father’s Walk of Fame ceremony.
In fact, a source told Page Six earlier this month that it was never in the hot sauce entrepreneur’s plans.
“Even if they wanted to see them on the Walk of Fame, Nicola wouldn’t have been so happy about it,” a source told Page Six.
Another source said: “Two things could be true: Nicola could be difficult and Brooklyn doesn’t want to see her parents.”
