Iconic actor Robert Redford passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 89.
The “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” star official confirmed his death to the New York Times.
Redford died of sleeping at his home outside Provo, Utah, according to a spokesman who did not determine the cause of death of the Oscar winner.
The founder of the Sundance Film Festival was survived by his wife, Sybil Syzagger.
Redford was also the father of three surviving children, Shawna, James and Amy, along with his ex-wife, Laura Van Weigenen and seven grandchildren.
The former couple, who were married from 1958 to 1985, also shared a son named Scott, who died as a toddler.
