“Serial Killer. Cemetery Robbers. Psycho. In the frozen fields of rural Wisconsin in the 1950s, a friendly, calm secular recluse named Eddie Gaine lived quietly on a rotten farm. Alongside Hannam, the cast of Monster: The Tale of Ed Gaine also includes Tom Hollander, Laurie Metcalf, Susanna Son, Vicki Creeps, Olivia Williams, Leslie Manville, Joey Polyari, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill and Robin Wagert.
Brennan and Murphy created the series and executive production, and Brennan also served as writers. Hunnam is an executive producer in addition to starring. Executive produced by Max Winkler, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, Nissa Diederich, Louise Shore and Carl Franklin. Brennan directed two episodes of the season, while Winkler directed six episodes.
Murphy and Brennan’s previous “Monsters” installments include “Dermer – Monsters: Jeff Leadermer Story” in 2022 and “Lyle and Eric Menendez Story” in 2024. The latter has now been nominated for 11 Emmy Awards, with the 77th Emmy Awards ceremony being set for September 14th.
