‘Toy Story 5’ remains overwhelmingly number one at the UK and Ireland box office

Disney’s animated blockbuster “Toy Story 5” maintained its absolute dominance at the UK and Ireland box office in its second installment, grossing a whopping 9.1 million pounds ($12.1 million), a decline of just 36%.

Pixar’s title reinvigorated the summer market, soaring to an unprecedented $38.3 million in box office revenue after just 10 days in theaters.

Warner Bros. took the runner-up spot with “Supergirl,” which was widely released to the public. The DC Universe movie was released in over 300 locations and grossed $3.6 million during its opening weekend.

Universal’s sci-fi thriller “Disclosure Day” ranked third in its third weekend of release. The Steven Spielberg-directed film added $1.1 million, bringing its total UK and Irish box office total to $14.2 million.

Paramount secured a top-four spot with its wide comedy debut “Jackass: The Best and Last,” which secured a $1 million opening slot. Close behind in fifth place was Universal’s resilient horror-romance “Obsession,” which earned $772,492 in the seventh slot. The genre hit has currently collected a total of $21.8 million.

Paramount’s horror parody reboot “Scary Movie” came in at No. 6 in its fourth weekend, taking in $295,675 and pushing its peak to $11.7 million. Anime Ltd took seventh place with its animated feature film Bleach: The Calamity, which grossed $278,263 in its opening weekend.

A24’s psychological viral horror “Backrooms” earned $259,334 in eight slots in its fifth weekend, bringing its total to $16.2 million. Picturehouse Entertainment’s National Theater event cinema rollout Les Liaisons Dangereuses – NT Live 2026 took ninth place, collecting $215,230 over the weekend for a total of $843,437. Rounding out the top 10 was Universal’s biographical musical drama “Michael,” which raked in $182,242 in its 10th week of release, pushing its lifetime total to $69.6 million.

Looking ahead to future theatrical release slots, Universal will lead a midweek push on Wednesday, July 1st, to release Pierre Coffin’s highly anticipated animated film Minions & Monsters in more than 300 locations. On Friday, July 3, the all-star comedy-drama “The Invite” starring Olivia Wilde (produced by Black Bear) will roll out on more than 300 screens with a cast led by Wilde, Seth Rogen, Penelope Cruz and Edward Norton, giving you a wide range of options.

Special repertoire replacements hitting screens on July 3 include Park Circus’ 50th anniversary rerelease of Martin Scorsese’s classic Taxi Driver in more than 100 locations. Yash Raj Films will release the latest installment of the Spy Universe series ‘Alpha’ starring Alia Bhatt in the lead role. The exclusive slate also includes “Oh My Goodness!” by Tal Stories. In a limited footprint of less than 25 screens, Curzon’s My Father’s Island, Dogwoof’s Birds of War, Mubi’s The Bourgeois Dog, The Phantom of July and Vertigo’s Nirvana: The Band – The Show – The Movie will be released, while Zee Studio International will premiere the action fantasy Nagabandham – The Secret. treasure. ”
