Cara Delevingne has confirmed that she and Amber Heard are in a relationship, six years after Elon Musk’s ‘three-way relationship’ claims.
The model broke her silence about the nature of her relationship with Heard on Monday’s “Louis Theroux Podcast.”
“We were close for a long time,” Heard, 33, explained, adding that they started “entangled” when Heard, 40, and ex-husband Johnny Depp were “considering divorce.”
Representatives for Heard, Delevingne and Depp did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.
Heard and her Rum Diaries co-star married in February 2015.
The actress filed for divorce in May of the following year, and the former couple’s relationship was legally dissolved in January 2017.
Heard and Delevingne, in particular, have been friends since 2014, but their bond became a hot topic in 2016, and they were frequently spotted together that summer.
Last month, Delevingne said on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast that “sleeping with[her]friends” helped the “Paper Towns” star understand her sexuality.
“There was a safety there,” she explained in May. “It didn’t mean we were gay either. You know, we all had boyfriends, but whatever happens when the lights go out, it doesn’t really mean anything.”
Delevingne and Heard were back in the headlines after Depp, 63, sued Heard for defamation over a 2018 essay in which he dubbed an anonymous former abuser.
In June 2020, Josh Drew, the ex-husband of Heard’s friend Raquel “Rocky” Pennington, claimed that Elon Musk slept with Delevingne at Heard’s Los Angeles home when Depp was still married to the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
Musk, 55, claimed in an exclusive statement to Page Six at the time that he and Delevingne had “never been intimate.”
“Cara and I are friends,” he insisted. “She would approve of this. I would also like to confirm once again that Amber and I started dating about a month after we filed for divorce.”
“I don’t think I was even close to Amber during our marriage!” the Tesla CEO continued.
He and Heard went public with their romance in April 2017, broke up that summer, but briefly reunited in early 2018.
Heard, who was found guilty in a libel trial in 2022, has since been romantically involved with art dealer Vito Schnabel, director Andres Muschietti and cinematographer Bianca Butti.
She became a mother “by choice” in 2021, adopting daughter Oonah, now five, as a surrogate mother, and four years later gave birth to twins Agnes and Ocean.
