David Beckham will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, but his estranged son Brooklyn will ignore the ceremony despite living just 20 minutes away, Page Six reports.
The former England soccer captain, 51, will be in the United States during the World Cup, but his friend Tom Cruise and his wife Victoria will be there to celebrate the star’s unveiling.
Brooklyn, 27, launched a vitriolic rant against her parents on Instagram in January, telling them to only contact her through her lawyer. Sources say that even if he wanted to reconcile, his wife Nicola Peltz, a billionaire heiress, would get in the way.
“Even if Nicola had wanted to see them on the Walk of Fame, she wouldn’t have been so happy,” a source told Page Six.
Brooklyn, a hot sauce entrepreneur, hasn’t seen his parents and three siblings in over a year. Another source familiar with the rift said he was the driving force behind the decision, adding: “Two things could be true: Nicola could be difficult and Brooklyn doesn’t want to see her parents.”
In fact, as we reported, Brooklyn found himself caught between a rock and a hard place until he released a six-page social media message accusing his parents of using him to make money for “Brand Beckham” and trying to “ruin” their marriage.
The last time Brooklyn and Nicola spent time with the Beckham family was Christmas 2024.
Things escalated ahead of David’s 50th birthday in May last year, when the couple flew to London but did not join the family for any of the celebrations.
In January, a source claimed the rift was due to Brooklyn’s wife falling out with Victoria before their wedding, asking: “What is Nicola trying to prove?”
However, Brooklyn later claimed that she was responsible for cutting ties with her parents.
Page Six has reached out to representatives for Brooklyn and the Beckhams for comment.
Victoria, 52, broke her silence about the scandal in an April interview with The Wall Street Journal, saying, “We’ve always tried to be the best parents we can be. And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for over 30 years now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our kids and love our kids.”
Asked by Today hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones about her “challenging year,” the fashion designer did not reveal her eldest son’s name, but spoke passionately about her “love” for her four children.
Victoria, who also has children Romeo, 23, Cruise, 21, and Harper, 14, with David, insisted: “We always put our children first. We love our children very much and our focus has always been on protecting them.”
The Spice Girls star went on to praise the “amazing people” who were around her and her husband during a “tough time.”
“We’re very close with my parents and David’s parents. We support each other in everything we do.”
Brooklyn and Nicola, 31, live in a sprawling four-bedroom, six-bathroom villa they bought for more than $16 million in Trousdale Estates, a star-studded luxury estate above Beverly Hills, where neighbors include Beckham family friends Sir Elton John and Justin and Hailey Bieber.
Their 7,000-square-foot home includes a wet bar, fitness center, home theater, infinity pool, outdoor kitchen and rooftop lounge, as well as more than $100,000 worth of furniture and art that came with the original property, according to Realtor.com.
The home was also purchased through an LLC connected to the Peltz family, headed by billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, and was secured by a nearly $13 million mortgage.
Just 4 miles from the Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony celebrating David. “David Beckham’s recognition as a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in Sports and Entertainment comes at the perfect time, with the United States hosting the FIFA World Cup,” said Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame.
“Beckham’s role in raising the profile of soccer in America and his lasting impact on sports, entertainment and world culture make this honor particularly meaningful,” Martinez added.
Celebrities must pay to have their stars added to the Walk of Fame, and there is an $85,000 fee for “star creation and installation,” as well as overall Walk maintenance.
Hollywood star Cruise has long been close to the Beckhams. When he briefly moved to California in July 2007, he and ex-wife Katie Holmes threw a welcome party to Los Angeles.
The pair remain great friends and Tom was seen looking happy as he left David’s 50th birthday party in London in May last year with his then-girlfriend, actress Ana de Armas.
