Colin McIver, the Northern Irish writer and director behind the recent thriller No Ordinary Heist, has signed a representation deal with Anonymous Content.
The news comes after Epic Pictures released the film theatrically in North America on April 24, with a VOD release scheduled for Monday.
Directed and co-written by McIver and inspired by true events in Belfast in December 2004, “No Ordinary Heist” tells the story of two bank employees who are forced to organize a £26.5 million ($36 million) heist to save their family’s lives. In this robbery, the duo will be seen carrying out the crime without any real gangster setting foot in the bank. Starring Eanna Hardwick and Eddie Marsan, the cast also includes Eva Birthisle, Desmond Eastwood and Michelle Fairley.
The film premiered at the 2026 Santa Barbara Film Festival and was released in Ireland in late March.
McIver’s 2010 debut feature Cup Cake won numerous international awards, including Best Feature at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Belfast Film Festival.
His second feature, 2017’s Zoo, was a historical family drama set during the Belfast air raids of World War II. The film was released in the US and UK in 2018 and won top honors at the Seattle International Film Festival, Giffoni Film Festival, Filemon International Film Festival, and Castellinaria International Film Festival.
In addition to his film work, McIver has directed numerous television dramas, including the recent World War II epic World On Fire, which aired on BBC One.
Mr. McIver will continue to be represented by Dench Arnold Agency.
