Christina Applegate feels “better every day” after her recent hospitalization.
Addressing her recent health scare via Instagram on Monday, the “married…with kids” actress said, “Thank you for the outpouring of love and blessings. Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day.”
“I’m taking some time to focus on my health, but I want to talk to you again soon.”
Ms Applegate, 54, hinted that she had moved back home with a statement accompanied by a photo of her coffee mug and her new memoir, “You with Sad Eyes.”
Applegate, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2021, was hospitalized in Los Angeles late last month, but it was unclear whether the reason was related to her autoimmune disease.
“We do not comment on whether she is hospitalized or what her treatment is,” a rep for the actress told Page Six in a statement at the time. “As evidenced in her memoir and podcast, she has a long history of complex medical conditions, about which she is refreshingly open.”
Days later, it was reported that those close to the “Anchorman” actress feared the worst for the star amid her “hellish” hospital stay.
“Realistically, every time there’s a setback, it’s in the back of everyone’s minds that there might not be another day with her,” a source told the Daily Mail. “Christina is a fighter, but her battle with MS has been a dangerous one. She has good days and really bad days. There are no great days. She’s always fighting something. It’s the worst.”
A source said Applegate had “so many friends who would listen to her, cry with her, and do anything for her.”
Since Applegate revealed her MS diagnosis, the actress has been very candid about her health journey.
In her new memoir, she details the “dangerous” and “horrifying” weight loss she experienced due to MS.
“Then I ended up on a clear liquid diet due to stomach issues and suddenly everything just fell out,” she wrote. “Within seven months, it was all gone and I lost over 50 pounds. Recently, my legs were thinner than ever.”
In February, Ms Applegate heartbreakingly revealed how she was still trying to take her daughter Sadie to school, while continuing to be confined to her bed due to ongoing pain.
“I want to take her with me. That’s my favorite thing to do. It’s the only time we get to spend together, just the two of us,” she told People magazine. “I tell myself, ‘Get her to safety so I can get her home and get back to bed.’ And that’s what I’m doing.”
“My life doesn’t end with a bow,” she continued. “People’s lives, for lack of a better word, can suck sometimes. So I try to be as honest and raw as possible.”
