Andy Sachs has come a long way in the last 20 years.
The Devil Wears Prada 2’s Anne Hathaway has been announced as People magazine’s World’s Most Beautiful Cover Star, glowing in a Tamara Ralph haute couture dress with 3D feathers.
In an accompanying article, Hathaway, 43, shared her tips for looking super gorgeous. She credits her glowing good looks to a facial sculpting massage by Georgia Louise, proper lighting, and being more “still” on the red carpet.
“Someone told me at some point, especially if you’re a naturally expressive person, you have to realize that what feels normal to you can look exaggerated on the red carpet,” she said.
“And if someone is taking a photo, you might not be happy with the photo. So be aware of your own stillness. Be aware of your own stillness.”
The actress also gives a shoutout to several products, including Shiseido’s Vital Perfect Anti-Aging Cream, C & the Moon Body Scrub, and Baume de Rose Lip Balm.
In one photo, she leans against a wall with her hair flowing behind her, wearing an eye-catching black and white Dolce & Gabbana bustier dress covered in oversized polka dots.
The designer’s peplum Stella McCartney blazer ($2,400) and pants ($1,290), vegan leather and denim vest and pants ($2,700), and chainmail Rabanne top paired with kite pants ($7,800) will also be available.
While viewers of 2006’s The Devil Wears Prada joked about how they blindly accepted that her assistant Sachs might pop up in the runway closet and put in “a lot of Chanel,” she admits she’s now “a little wiser.”
So, just as Hathaway herself has found confidence in her personal style over the years, so has Sacks.
“Andi learned a thing or two while on the runway, and when she went out into the world to explore a career as a journalist, she visited a lot of off-the-beaten-path consignment shops that were super fun. I mean, she’s been selling luxury goods on consignment for 20 years, and she actually has a pretty cool wardrobe.”
When asked about her self-described “awkward period,” the actress joked that it “lasted decades and decades.”
“I think I had the longest lasting awkward period in Hollywood,” he added, “In fact, I think it lasted into my late 30s.”
Having found a stronger position, Hathaway is now “cherishing the cold.”
“I’ve never been at this age, so just think about it. You don’t know yet what’s going to happen around the corner.”
