Shannon Elizabeth announced she was joining OnlyFans on Wednesday, and Page Six has exclusively learned that the announcement came shortly after she secretly filed for divorce from husband Simon Borchert.
“Divorce is new. She just became single and will launch OnlyFans tomorrow morning,” a source exclusively told Page Six. I also heard that she officially submitted the paperwork on Tuesday.
The 52-year-old “American Pie” actress hasn’t publicly announced their breakup, but she hinted at it in a Facebook post on Wednesday as she reflected on resetting her life.
“There’s something about the ocean that resets everything. It mutes the noise, softens the edges, and brings you right back to what’s important. Thank you for these quiet moments, feet in the sand, and unconditional love,” she wrote.
A representative for Shannon did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment on the breakup.
But Elizabeth revealed she is joining a subscription-based platform to take control of her own narrative.
“I’ve spent my entire career in Hollywood, where other people controlled the narrative and outcome of my career. This new chapter is about changing that, showing off a sexier side that no one has ever seen, and getting closer to my fans,” Elizabeth told People.
In a separate statement to Page Six, Elizabeth said she looks forward to further interaction with fans through the platform.
“Reconnecting with my fans through my appearances reminded me of how much their support meant to me throughout my career and how much I missed that energy,” she said.
“OnlyFans has given me the opportunity to offer that and more, a behind-the-scenes, unfiltered look into my life and provide genuine connections that other platforms simply cannot.”
“Here, I also share exclusive content that you can’t find anywhere else. This isn’t content that you just watch from afar. This is for the people who have always come for me, and I want them to feel that.”
The Scary Movie actress added that she is “still based in South Africa” and continues her philanthropic work through her namesake foundation, which “remains incredibly close to my heart.”
“But this feels like the perfect moment to open up my world to the fans who have been with me throughout this journey. I’m so excited about this,” she concluded.
Added Andy Bachman, CEO of Creators Inc., “Shannon has always been someone who truly enjoys connecting with and giving back to her fans, and now she’s able to do that in a more direct and meaningful way than ever before. It’s a powerful model, and right now, nothing is more effective at facilitating that connection than OnlyFans.”
Elizabeth married Borchert, a South African conservation expert, in 2021. The couple first met in 2015.
Although the two have kept their relationship private, she and Borchert have collaborated on her foundation and even hosted a podcast together called “The Art of Conservation.”
Elizabeth was married to fellow actor Joseph D. Reitman from 2002 to 2006.
