Prince William has reportedly called his disgraced uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to offer his “condolences” after he was stripped of his royal titles.

Author Robert Hardman claims in his new novel ‘Elizabeth II: Private, Public and the Inside Story’ that the former prince was ‘very touched’ by the call as he was ‘one of the few people’ who contacted Prince William.

Kensington Palace had no comment on the claims when contacted by Page Six.

In October 2025, Andrew was stripped of his title of ‘Prince’ and kicked out of his Royal Lodge home due to his association with the late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In February, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton publicly responded to the newly released Epstein files and expressed support for the victims.

Kensington Palace told Page Six that on Monday, ahead of their arrival in Saudi Arabia, they “confirmed to reporters that the Prince and Princess are deeply concerned by the continuing revelations.”

“Their thoughts remain focused on the victims,” the spokesperson added.

Days after the new files were released, the former prince was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in office for allegedly forwarding confidential trade documents to Epstein on his 66th birthday. If convicted, he could be sentenced to up to life in prison.

Immediately after his uncle’s arrest, 43-year-old William admitted he was “not at peace at all”.

However, the prince has reportedly wanted to kick Andrew out of the royal family since 2019, and Andrew admitted in a BBC interview that he has no regrets about his friendship with Epstein.

Prince William is said to have recommended it to his father, King Charles, at the time. And his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, “banished” Andrew.

Later that month, the former prince (pictured at the time of his arrest) was arrested on charges of misconduct in public office for allegedly forwarding confidential trade documents to Mr. Epstein. Reuters

“Prince William was absolutely adamant after seeing his uncle’s interview on BBC Newsnight and his harrowing account of being friends with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein,” royal author Russell Myers told Us Weekly in February.

“Refusing to apologize for the relationship and refusing to acknowledge the real trauma of Epstein’s victims was a red line for William.”

The author of William and Catherine: A New Era of the Monarchy: The Inside Story claimed, “In fact, he said to the late Queen and her father (Charles III), ‘He must be expelled. Andrew must be expelled from both the public and private royal families.'”

The author explained that if William were king, “he would have taken certain steps to eliminate Andrew completely.”

“William understands that his father needs to take the lead on this matter and will support him in any way possible.”

In 2021, Epstein’s accuser Virginia Giuffre (who died by suicide in April 2025) accused Andrew of sexual assault.

She claimed that Epstein raped her three times starting when she was 17 years old as part of his sex trafficking ring.

Andrew denied the charges, and the case was settled privately in 2022 for an estimated $12 million.
