Jamie Lee Curtis tearfully reflected on the murders of her best friends Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner in an emotional podcast moment Wednesday.
The actress spoke to Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson’s “IMO” listeners about the couple’s passing on daughter Annie Guest’s birthday in December 2025.
“Rob and Michelle are her godfathers,” the 67-year-old added.
Curtis added that Annie gave birth to her first child the following week, which the Oscar winner called “a life in the harshest conditions of my life, and a life in the most beautiful and perfect conditions of my life.”
The “Freaky Friday” star explained, “My beautiful daughter, who loved[Reiners]as we all did, managed to metabolize the grief and grief, as we all had to.”
Curtis, in particular, was one of the first A-listers to pay tribute to the late couple, who tragically passed away last year.
The “Scream Queens” alum told Variety that she and her husband, Christopher Guest, “are numb, saddened and shocked by the violent and tragic deaths of[their]dear friends.”
Curtis added: “Our sole focus and care at this time is on their children and next of kin and we will provide all possible support to help them. We have lost a great friend. Please allow us time to grieve.”
Rob and Michelle were murdered in their Los Angeles home on December 14, 2025. The famous director was 78 years old and his wife was 70 years old.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office confirmed that the couple’s deaths were caused by “multiple sharp force trauma” and ruled their deaths a homicide.
Their middle child, Nick Reiner, was arrested the day after the killing and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
If convicted, the 32-year-old could face life in prison without parole or the death penalty.
Nick has struggled with drug addiction for many years and was diagnosed with schizophrenia before his parents died.
His brothers Romy, 28, and Jake Reiner, 34, have not attended any court hearings since the murder.
Nick is next scheduled to appear before a judge on April 29th.
