Travis Kelsey wrote a letter to Taylor Swift about how the Ella Tour helped him “meet the love of my life.” Swift read the letter aloud in the final episode of the documentary series End of an Era, ahead of the tour’s third-to-last show. Kelce first attended the Elas Tour in July 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri.
Travis Kelce is a huge contributor to the Eras Tour. After all, that’s where he found his future wife. In the sixth episode of Taylor Swift’s docuseries The End of an Era, the singer receives a heartfelt letter written to her by her now fiancé, Kelsey, before her final three shows on tour.
The video shows Swift holding up a card and reading part of the message backstage.
“I have so many incredible memories from this tour, but my fondest memory is seeing you in concert for the first time and being swept off my feet by a woman who didn’t even know me. I would like to thank Robert (Allen, tour manager) for organizing this legendary tour and for letting me stop in Kansas City, Missouri. That night in KC was also the beginning of me meeting the love of my life.”
Swift read the rest of the letter silently, clearly moved. “Oh my god,” she says. “I didn’t feel any emotion in the last three shows.”
Kelce was unable to attend Swift’s final show due to his schedule with the Kansas City Chiefs. In fact, the team was playing against the LA Chargers at Swift’s final concert on December 8, 2024. “The End of an Era” shows Swift rehearsing backstage in Chiefs costume while watching the game live. After the show, Swift’s father proudly tells her that the Chiefs won. Although they weren’t together at the milestone, Swift and Kelsey were still supporting each other from afar.

Kelsea attended an Ellas tour performance in Kansas City in July 2023 and famously tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with her phone number on it. As he later told his brother Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast, “It was a shame that she didn’t talk before or after the show, because she has to save her voice to sing 44 songs. So I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t give her one of the bracelets that I made for her.”
He added, “She didn’t meet anyone, or at least she didn’t want to see me, so I took it as a personal thing. But it was an incredible show. I’ve only ever seen Arrowhead so excited and packed at a Chiefs game. Everyone was dressed in pink and purple and going crazy. It was a wild show.”
Two years later, that moment came full circle when Swift appeared as a guest at New Heights to announce her latest album, The Life of Showgirls. “I got a boyfriend from this podcast after Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago,” she joked. Swift also revealed, “I’ve never seen the original (friendship bracelet),” and further teased Kelce, saying, “This guy doesn’t even get a handshake and makes it everyone’s problem. He didn’t contact management.”
The move may have been bold, but it was undeniably romantic. Swift admitted, “This is like, ever since I was a teenager, I’ve been writing songs about things I want to happen to me.” She added, “It was tough, but it worked out. I’m glad it worked out. I just moved back to New Heights to be thankful for it.”
Kelsey proposed to Swift shortly after recording the podcast episode. Of course she said yes.
