Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau attended Team USA’s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay, where they were seen cuddling up in a sweet moment of PDA, and they recently walked the red carpet together for the first time as a married couple.
Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau were spotted at Team USA’s World Cup qualifier against Paraguay on Friday in Inglewood, California. The couple were seen sitting in the arena, cuddling each other as they watched the match below. They held hands, talked and shared the excitement of the game.
Perry played a key role in the World Cup, singing at the tournament’s opening ceremony. She wore a striking Stella McCartney dress made with silver metallic fringe and a sculptural skirt as she sang her hit song “Wonder.”
Trudeau had to miss Canada’s season opener to watch Perry perform, something Trudeau commented on on X. “Sometimes you have to have a supportive boyfriend,” the former Canadian prime minister wrote, adding a Canadian flag emoji. “But you know who I’m rooting for to win the cup.”
And in keeping with his “boyfriend duties,” Trudeau was by Perry’s side at the premiere of Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour during the Tribeca Festival in New York earlier this week. This was the first time the couple officially appeared together on the red carpet.
Entertainment Tonight asked Trudeau on the red carpet if he had seen her concert footage yet. He replied, “I’ve seen the show three times and haven’t really paid much attention to anything other than Katy, so I’m looking forward to watching the show for the first time now.”
That night, Perry also went on a rant about Trudeau.
“I’m so in love,” she said via E! “Actually, that show (her concert in Paris) was after I met the love of my life. So I felt very anchored by that, because I’m kind of like a rainbow kite. I want to fly so high and, you know, touch the veil, the universe, but sometimes I need to be anchored. So with that anchoring, now I finally feel like I’m really whole.”
