Big Brother contestant Mickey Leigh suffered a “cardiac arrest” and was hospitalized in a “critical condition”.
A GoFundMe page dedicated to Season 27 alumni reads: “Today, we come together today with heavy hearts to ask for your support.”
“Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests and is currently in the ICU in critical but stable condition.”
Cori Smith, the page’s organizer, said Lee, 35, was “surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and difficult.”
Smith said the “sudden health crisis” has left Lee and his family “facing significant emotional and financial burdens, from high hospital bills to ongoing treatment and recovery costs.”
This fundraiser aims to cover medical expenses not covered by insurance, professional treatment, recovery support, and travel and lodging for families.
“Mickey touched the lives of many people through his courage, bold personality and unforgettable presence on Big Brother,” Smith added.
“Let’s show her the same love and support now, when she needs it most.”
Smith also described Lee as a “curator and creative force for the event” who “bred glamor and fierce competition to the Big Brother house”.
As of Monday, the fundraising page had raised more than $9,706 of its $13,000 goal.
Lee appeared on the latest season of Big Brother, which aired from July to September.
This competition series consists of a group of people called “houseguests” who live together and overcome power, conflict, and alliances to avoid eviction.
The TV personality’s co-stars wished her a speedy recovery, with Jimmy Heagerty commenting in an Instagram post: “Wishing you an easy and smooth recovery.”
“Mickey, I’m thinking of you and your family in my prayers,” Rachel Riley added.
Lee was last active on social media last week when she promoted new episodes of iHeartPodcasts.
