Amy Schumer detailed her lackluster sex life with husband Chris Fischer in a shocking resurfaced interview years before divorce rumors started swirling.
“We’ve been married for four years, but sex is hard,” she admitted on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2022.
After an awkward silence from the audience, Schumer elaborated, “When you’re married. It’s hard to have sex when you’re married, because it’s like your family. You know what I mean?”
“I’m not just going to have sex with you because that’s my emergency contact,” she joked. “I don’t like that.”
“And when you’re married, you can’t talk really dirty anymore because he knows me so well. I can’t say, ‘I’m going to…’ and he’ll say, ‘No, you’re not,'” she joked. “‘My back hurts. It doesn’t hurt.'”
“But we’ve been role-playing a lot, because in role-playing I always choose the same role. I always think, ‘OK, I’m in a coma,'” she said as she lay unresponsive.
Back in February, Schumer once again exposed the couple’s lack of intimacy, revealing they were “planning” to have sex after welcoming son Gene, 6.
“We do birthdays…we plan it, we plan it,” she said on “The View” on Feb. 3.
“Nobody’s going to be like, ‘Oh!’ It’s never going to feel like it’s going to just happen,” she continued. “Do people do that?”
Divorce speculation surrounding Schumer, 44, and Fisher, 45, began last month after a close friend of the comedian told the Daily Mail that the pair were headed for divorce.
“Amy is 100 percent divorced. She’s lost weight, but she’s at her limit,” a friend told the outlet, referring to the “Trainwreck” star’s recent dramatic weight loss.
The source also said that Fisher “rarely leaves the house” and that the couple is putting their homes in Brooklyn and New Orleans on the market.
Sources also pointed out that Schumer’s choice to delete old photos she posted on Instagram was a clear sign of a breakup.
“She deleted Chris from Instagram and then everything else. She plans on filing soon, but it’s over. It’s done.”
The “Slightly Pregnant” actress addressed speculation as to why she deleted much of her Instagram feed, explaining that it was because she “wanted the world to see” how “strong and beautiful” she is now that she has lost weight and improved her overall health.
Another source claimed the pair, who married in 2018, are “no longer close” and that the chef “has never been around and hasn’t taken him to a red carpet in months.”
He also claimed that because Fisher has been diagnosed with autism, he “can’t even understand her jokes” and that this is having a negative effect on their relationship because “being funny and making people laugh is important to her.”
But a source told People on November 14 that the couple is “privately working through the normal issues that long-married couples have,” adding that they are “both fully committed to their relationship.”
However, Schumer further fueled divorce rumors over the weekend when she posted a snapshot of herself conspicuously missing her wedding ring.
