North West and Kim Kardashian are responding to continued criticism of her new earrings.
In September, fans of the Kardashian family discovered that Kardashian’s eldest daughter had a skin piercing on her middle finger.
This piercing is also called a microdermal piercing or a single point piercing. According to Birdie, dermal piercings sit flat against the skin and do not have separate entry and exit points. Since the discovery, fans have expressed concern about the 12-year-old boy and criticized the SKIMS founder.
On Nov. 11, TikTok user @mazzy_williams posted a video with overlaid text that read, “Am I the only one whose heart breaks when North West gets his fingers pierced?”
The TikTok user captioned the video, “What’s going on #Northwest #Kardashian.”
On November 13th, Kita and Kim’s TikTok accounts replied, “It’s okay🫶.”

Several other TikTok users came to North’s defense, replying to the video saying, “Actually, how does that affect you?”
Another woman added: “She wanted to get a piercing but Kim asked her not to because she was just trying to get her kids to express their feelings.”
Others agreed with TikTok users. “No, I totally agree, I don’t know why people act like you can’t have an opinion, lol,” one person wrote.
Despite the backlash, the mother of four defended her daughter and her decision, pointing out that her daughter is following her own path when it comes to fashion and beauty.
Kardashian appeared on the Call Her Daddy podcast on Oct. 15 and praised North for how “mature” she is when it comes to public criticism.
“She’ll say, ‘Mom, I saw this. I don’t care that you don’t like my blue hair or this or that,'” Kardashian said, adding, “She’s really confident…”

Kardashian, who shares children North, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6, with ex-husband Kanye West, also opened up about the challenges of being a parent to a preteen. The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star admitted he made some mistakes and asked for “a little reprieve.”
“I’m like, OK, I’m never going to wear that outfit again. Unfortunately, we made that mistake in front of the whole world,” Kardashian said. “Being a mom is like learning at the same time.”
