Sidney Sweeney clearly had Marilyn Monroe on her mood board as she prepared for the Governors Awards red carpet on Sunday.
The Euphoria star, 28, channeled the Hollywood icon of yesteryear in a shimmering off-the-shoulder Miu Miu dress with a sweetheart neckline that drew attention to her décolleté.
The custom-made dress sparkled with crystals all over, and an airy sash wrapped around her shoulders and fell into a floor-sweeping train, adding a little extra drama to the look.
And while Monroe may have taught us that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, Sweeney kept her jewelry minimal, accenting her dress with two Dena Kemp diamond rings and sparkling drop earrings.
Sweeney’s hairstylist Glenn Coco styled the actress’ blonde bob in soft waves that complemented the vintage-inspired ensemble.
His appearance at the Governors Awards comes after Sweeney’s new film, Christie, was a box office flop, grossing just $1.3 million in its opening weekend.
The actress gained 30 pounds and trained extensively in boxing to play legendary fighter Christy Martin in David Micheaux’s drama, which opened in theaters on November 7th.
Despite disappointing box office results, Sweeney defended the project. “We don’t always make art for numbers. We make art for impact,” Sweeney captioned an Instagram post celebrating the film. “Christie was the most influential project of my life.”
The “Anyone But You” star recently finished filming Season 3 of HBO’s “Euphoria” and has been dating music executive Scooter Braun since the summer after splitting from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino in March.
