Jennifer Lopez wore a stunning champagne ball gown with contrasting details to the Governors Awards on November 16th. She paired the dress with black opera gloves and drop earrings. Her performance in Kiss of the Spider-Woman last month sparked awards season buzz, and she attended the event.
Jennifer Lopez attended the 16th Annual Governors Awards on Sunday wearing an eye-catching sculptural ball gown. The dress was from Tamara Ralph’s Fall 2025 Haute Couture collection and featured a strapless corseted bodice with a plunging sweetheart neckline and plunging skirt. The contrast of black and champagne colors creates an hourglass silhouette, helped by the lace-up detail at the back. Lopez completed her look with black opera gloves, pearl earrings with diamond accents, and an updo.
Lopez attended the event to support Kiss of the Spider-Woman, director Bill Condon’s latest film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical. Following its release last month, Lopez’s performance as Ingrid Luna, also known as Spider-Woman, sparked awards season buzz.
She spoke about the opportunity to work on the project at its Sundance premiere in January. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life,” she said, according to Entertainment Weekly. She revealed that she had always wanted to be in a musical, saying, “I remember once a year, on Thanksgiving,[West Side Story]would come on, and my mom would sit me in front of the TV, and I would just be fascinated and think, ‘This is me. “That’s always been my goal, and this is the first time I’ve actually gotten to do it, so it’s a big deal.[Bill Condon]made my dream come true.”
In May, Lopez spoke to People magazine about her plans for the coming months, including spending time with her twins Max and Emme, going on tour, and headlining World Pride in Washington, D.C. “It seems like the perfect summer to celebrate being free and happy,” Lopez said. “Everything in my life feels really healthy and good right now. I’m ready to go out and make people sing and dance and have a good time. That’s always my goal.”
