Paris Jackson has defended showing off her pierced septum while discussing years of drug abuse.
“ππΌβΊοΈ To those wondering why I shared this, it’s not for you β₯οΈ,” she wrote in the comments section of Shade Room’s Instagram post on Tuesday.
“As a recovering addict to heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, alcohol, etc., part of my main purpose is to share the message of recovery with those who are struggling with it. I’m not trying to advertise, I’m just trying to get the message across,” the American Horror Story actress added.
“If this doesn’t concern you, I completely understand why it’s confusing for you. And that’s totally fine. It’s just a different life experience. I appreciate that!”
Jackson, 27, said the first video was for “people who are also recovering or have not yet been found.”
In a candid TikTok video on Monday, the “Let Down” singer told her followers that she has a septal perforation, a hole in the cartilage or bone between the nostrils, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
The only daughter of the late Michael Jackson said, “When I breathe through my nose, the whistling sound is very loud.”
Paris then shined a cellphone light up her nose so that viewers could see the hole at the back of her nostril.
“I think that’s because, uh…don’t do drugs, kids. I mean, you should do them. Everybody goes through what they need to go through in life,” she said.
“I’m not going to tell anyone what to do, but it ruined my life and I don’t recommend it,” the “Sex Appeal” star added.
Paris revealed that she “didn’t want to have plastic surgery” to fix her nose because she had “been sober for almost six years” and didn’t want to take medication while recovering.
In January, the actress revealed that she celebrated five years of giving up alcohol and heroin.
