David Harbor has undergone a major transformation for his latest movie role.
Shortly after the Season 5 premiere of Stranger Things premiered in Los Angeles on November 6, the 50-year-old actor was spotted on the set of the crime thriller Evil Genius, which is currently being filmed and directed by Courteney Cox.
In a photo taken on Monday, Nov. 10, Harbor appeared almost unrecognizable in the midst of a shooting in New Jersey. Now gray-haired and sporting a fluffy gray beard, he wore a blue short-sleeved button-down and jean overalls over what appeared to be a padded suit.

The Thunderbolts star appears to be playing real-life pizza delivery man Brian Douglas Wells, who was killed in a bank robbery near Erie, Pennsylvania in 2003. Hometown. Evil Genius follows Wells’ infamous “pizza bombing” case, where an FBI investigation uncovers a complex robbery-murder plot.
Before his death, Wells famously claimed he was robbed at a bank and demanded $250,000 in cash, pleading not guilty.

According to Deadline , a four-part documentary called Evil Genius: The True Story of America’s Most Diabolical Bank Heist was released on Netflix in 2018. The new narrative film, directed and produced by Cox, 61, and written by Courtney Miles, draws inspiration from that series. Co-stars include Patricia Arquette, Michael Charnas, Garret Dillahunt, Daniel McDonald, Tom McCarthy, Gregory Alan Williams, Ryan Eggold, Owen Teague, and Harlow Jane.

Harbor headed to the set of Evil Genius straight from a promotional event for the latest and final season of the Netflix sci-fi drama Stranger Things. At the Nov. 6 premiere, he wore a pinstripe suit and mustache, along with co-stars Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, and Finn Wolfhard.
“I’ve been fascinated by ‘Evil Genius’ ever since I first saw this documentary,” Cox said in a statement shared with Deadline about the new film.
“Stranger than fiction,” she added, “at times darkly funny and yet deeply emotional. A story about love, loneliness, manipulation, and people on the fringes being drawn into something much bigger than themselves.”

Evil Genius does not yet have a release date. Harbor’s other upcoming projects include the animated film GOAT (in theaters February 13, 2026). Violent Knight 2 (in theaters December 4, 2026); and Avengers: Doomsday (in theaters December 18, 2026).
