Ahead of Chapel Lawn’s red carpet appearance at the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony on Saturday, photographers were given a series of wild instructions.
In a video circulating on social media, a red carpet attendant warns photographers that the “Pink Pony Club” singer is approaching.
“Okay, Chapel is coming. No one will yell at her or she’ll leave,” the woman was heard saying. “Everyone, please be quiet, be kind, and smile.”
Although some photographers seemed to laugh off the request, the “Hot to Go” singer was certainly treated with respect on the carpet. On the contrary, she complied with their requests.
“Can you do a spin for me?” the man asked politely, and Roan answered, turning away.
“That’s great,” the photographer encouraged.
A representative for Mr. Roan did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The Grammy Award-winning artist, 27, has a history of confronting rude photographers on the red carpet.
During the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards ceremony, she yelled at a cameraman as if he had been told to “shut up.”
“Shut up,” she shot back, adding, “Don’t do it. Not me, bitch.”
A month later, she called out another photographer at the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo’s film Guts World Tour in Los Angeles, claiming he had been “rude” to her at an earlier event.
“You were so rude to me at the Grammys. You yelled at me at the Grammy party,” she claimed after walking up to him.
That person wasn’t on camera, but he didn’t seem to agree with Roan.
Still, she didn’t back down.
“I need an apology for that. So, yeah, you do too. … You owe me an apology,” she said, before someone finally stepped in to escort her back to the red carpet.
Amid her battle for respect on the red carpet, Roan opened up about her own mental health struggles. She revealed that she was diagnosed with severe depression in September last year.
She theorized that the cause of her depression was the rapid changes in her life after experiencing a meteoric rise to fame.
“Everything I really want to do now comes with challenges,” she said in an interview with the Guardian. “If you want to be frugal, you have to book security and be prepared that this is not the norm.”
“I want to go to the park, do Pilates, do yoga, but how can I do it in a safe way without being stalked or harassed?” she asked.
