The Starz premiere date for the eighth and final season of “Outlander” has been set.
The long-awaited final season of the hit drama series will debut on March 6, 2026, Starz announced Friday. New episodes will be available to stream every Friday on the Starz app and all Starz streaming and on-demand platforms.
The final season’s description reads:
“As Season 8 begins, Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) quickly discover that the war has extended all the way to their hometown of Fraser’s Ridge, now a settlement that has grown and flourished in their absence. New arrivals and changes during their years apart, the Frasers are willing to sacrifice anything for the place they call home. And, more importantly, what they will sacrifice to stay together. The Fraser family holds a united front against outside invaders, but their family secrets are finally exposed and threaten to tear them apart from within. Although they have left the war for American freedom behind, their fight for Fraser’s Ridge is just beginning.
In addition to Heughan and Balfe, the series cast includes Sophie Skelton as Brianna Mackenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger Mackenzie, John Bell as young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vanderbert as William Ransom, and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray.
Matthew B. Roberts, Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schellhaas, Andy Harries, Jim Kohlberg, Balfe and Heughan will executive produce “Outlander,” a Sony Pictures Television production.
Even though the main series ends, the world of Outlander continues. Earlier this year, Starz premiered the prequel, Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which was renewed for a second season ahead of the first season’s premiere.
