It’s been several years since actor and comedian Pete Davidson last appeared on Saturday Night Live, but he recently said he would take the opportunity to return if series creator and executive producer Lorne Michaels asked him to return. “I owe that man my life. He started it all,” Davidson told People magazine on November 8. “I’ll do anything for Loan, and he knows that.”
One of the youngest cast members to be part of the “SNL” ensemble, Davidson joined the show during its 40th season at just 20 years old. He is one of the few “SNL” stars to join before his 21st birthday, along with Eddie Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Anthony Michael Hall.
Davidson appeared on the show for eight seasons from 2014 to 2022 and returned as host in October 2023. “I had a lot of fun hosting the show last time, and whenever I get a call, it’s an honor and an honor,” he said of the experience.
During his time at SNL, Davidson co-wrote and starred in Judd Apatow’s drama The King of Staten Island, and went on to appear in Fast X, Transformers: Rise of the Beast, The Pickup, and even the Peacock series Bap Kiss. He has also appeared in ad campaigns for Taco Bell and is currently partnering with Amazon for Alexa+.
But the actor and comedian still looks warmly at the origins of “SNL.” He said of the show, “It’s always meaningful. It’s a hot show. Everyone’s looking forward to it, and the cast is great.”
