Jeremy Renner has denied allegations against his former business partner Yi Chou after accusing him of sending her “intimate” photos and threatening to “call ICE.”
“The allegations being made are completely inaccurate and untrue,” a representative for the actor exclusively told Page Six.
Zhou, 37, went public with her allegations against the actor on Monday, telling her Instagram followers that Renner began contacting her in June by sending her “personal, intimate photos of himself.”
“He convinced me of his sincerity by saying he had been single for a long time and was open to a long-term relationship,” she continued. “I believed in Him, the power of love, and the possibility of salvation.”
Chou, 54, who worked with Renner on the documentary “The Chronicles of Disney” and the animated film “Stardust Future: Stars and Scars,” claimed that the Marvel actor “had a written contract” with the production company, but later denied “any personal relationship or professional collaboration.”
“When I personally called him out on his past wrongdoings and asked him to behave appropriately and respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement and ICE against me. This behavior deeply shocked and horrified me,” Chou said.
On Thursday, Chou further elaborated on her claims in an interview with the Daily Mail, sharing a screenshot of a video Renner allegedly sent to her on WhatsApp.
The video depicted a male porn actor and a female porn actress engaging in sexual activity. Along with the clip, Renner allegedly sent the message, “Oh yeah? 🤤 Is this okay??”
Chou claimed to have a “collection of photos and pornographic GIFs that he sent.”
“I didn’t contact him. He chased me,” she told the Daily Mail. “I didn’t even know his name and I’d never seen any of his movies. He used me, he negated me, he negated our work.”
After beginning a correspondence with Renner, the two filmmakers are said to have had a brief romance, according to Chou.
Chou previously spoke passionately about their relationship in October, telling the Daily Mail that she and Renner had “found new love” months after she recovered from a near-fatal snowplow accident.
Her comments come on the heels of Renner previously hinting at their romance by sharing clips and photos of the two riding bikes in her hometown of Reno, Nevada.
Renner was previously married to Sonni Pacheco and they share joint custody of their 12-year-old daughter Eva.
In a 2019 court filing, Pacheco accused the actor of drug abuse after allegedly threatening to kill her daughter and firing a gun in her presence.
At the time, Renner denied Pacheco’s allegations against him, calling them “nonsense.”
