Rumors are swirling about tension between Alix Earle and her stepmother, Ashley Dupre, after the singer publicly dissed Dancing with the Stars guest judge Cheryl Burke. But Page Six can confirm that there is no drama.
“There is no tension at all,” an inside source exclusively told Page Six Friday.
Questions arose about Earl’s status with his stepmother shortly after the Daily Mail reported that there was “noticeable tension” between the TikTok star and Dupre.
“Although the Earls keep their family matters private, there has been significant tension between Alix and her stepmother Ashley recently,” a source claimed to the newspaper on Friday.
“Ashley loves attention just as much as Alix, so she says and posts whatever she wants without thinking about the repercussions,” the source continued.
Sources claimed that it was a “cross-the-line scenario” when Dupre, 40, “badmouthed” Burke, 41, to “make more Ozempic” in a heated Instagram Story last month.
“Alix would have immediately told her stepmother and told her what she did was wrong,” the source said.
The person pointed out that Dupre couldn’t have been “thrilled” to post an apology last week for his antics, and that he was doing it for Earle, 24.
“She loves Alix and doesn’t want to be on the bad side,” the source claimed.
We hear that Earl was happy with Dupre’s public apology, and our source said: “Alix is happy that Ashley corrected her comments.”
The 24-year-old content creator is said to be working tirelessly to protect public perception of her family.
A Daily Mail source claimed: “Alix has worked very hard to maintain a good reputation,” citing her stepmother’s “known history of breaking up marriages and working as a bodyguard.”
The former call girl rose to fame for her role in the 2008 Eliot Spitzer prostitution scandal, which led to the New York governor’s resignation.
Dupre is suspected of having had an affair with a former escort during his marriage to Earle’s mother, Alisa Maniasi, and married Earle’s father, Thomas Earle, in 2013.
“The fact that Ashley makes mean comments about celebrities shows she hasn’t changed and just wants attention,” the source concluded. “Half the people who know her don’t take her seriously.”
Last month, Ms. Dupre, who has three children with her husband, cast a shadow over Mr. Burke’s appearance, accusing him of giving her a lower score than the other judges for her “Halloween Night” tango routine with partner Val Chmerkovskiy.
Before slamming Burke, Dupre posted a live TikTok reaction video of an “amazing” dance.
When some social media users criticized her for her mean words, Dupre defended herself by saying, “She looks weird. She doesn’t look like that.” (Ms Burke previously denied using Ozempic or that she was ill, after her body modification sparked speculation.)
Dupre eventually posted an apology video, calling his comments about Burke “insensitive.”
“With so much competition, my stepmother instincts got the better of me,” she explained. “I’ve never wanted to make anyone feel bad. In fact, I try to do the opposite.
“Always try to give others a ride,” she added. “If you follow me, you know that, but that’s how we raise our kids. I’m disappointed that my actions didn’t reflect that.”
