Zendaya is saying goodbye to beloved “Euphoria” character Lou Bennett.
“I just want to say thank you,” the “Dune” actress said backstage after the episode Sunday.
“I’m so grateful to each and every one of you. Many of you have been here from the beginning and watched me grow,” she added.
“I was really happy and honored. Thank you very much.”
Lou, who has struggled with drug addiction throughout the HBO Max series, died of an accidental overdose in Sunday’s season finale after drug lord Alamo Brown (played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje) intentionally ingested him with fentanyl-laced painkillers.
Lou’s body is discovered by her mentor Ali Muhamed, played by Colman Domingo.
Ali then goes to the Alamo strip club seeking revenge on Lou and shoots the drug lord dead after a confrontation.
However, Lou was not the only major character killed off in the third and final season.
In last week’s episode, Nate Jacobs, played by Jacob Elordi, also met his fate when he was buried alive in a coffin with pipes connected to the ground so he could breathe.
However, a rattlesnake slipped down the pipe and bit him.
“It’s cool to see it all turn out like this,” the “Frankenstein” star, 28, said in an HBO segment after the show.
Elordi said his character “was someone who made so many mistakes and made so many dark choices.”
‘Euphoria’ Season 3 is available to stream on HBO Max.
