Joy Behar is leaving the Hot Topics table — temporarily, of course.
The comedian typically does not appear on Monday episodes of “The View,” but the June 1 broadcast marked the beginning of a two-week absence from the daily talk show.
“There’s been a lot of media attention on me lately because I’m going on vacation for the next two weeks,” Behar said on the May 29 episode. “They call it a hiatus, but it’s not a hiatus.”
“I’m working,” she explained. “Next week, I’m planning a trip abroad to perform my play “My First Ex-Husband” in London.”
This echoes what Behar told The View executive producer Brian Teta on the May 26 episode of the Behind the Table podcast: “I’m flying to Paris this week and going through the tunnel to London in a week.”
While in London, the co-hosts revealed that they will be producing a West End play called My First Ex-Husband, which will feature Jackie Hoffman and two British actors.
The show, which comically tackles themes such as marriage and divorce, premiered off-Broadway in New York in February 2025.
Behar said she will spend her week in the City of Love writing a play “in different cafes” and checking out several art exhibitions, including one featuring Matisse.
“Wouldn’t that be fun?” gushed the 83-year-old TV personality of the stay.
Teta went on to explain that “a variety of people” will be filling in for the talk show icon during the two-week hiatus, including Sheryl Underwood, fresh off the Kevin Hart roast special, and Kara Swisher, who he said is “very funny and smart.”
“Whoopi is going to be here on Friday,” Teta joked, adding, “I don’t think she knows about it. I’ll let her know.”
Behar, who has appeared on The View for all but two seasons since the show’s debut in 1997, previously surprised fans by unexpectedly missing two episodes of the show in November 2025.
Goldberg explained at the time that Behar “hurt his leg.”
