“Virgin River” actor Stewart MacLean has been found dead and is believed to be the victim of a murder after going missing earlier this week, investigators tell Page Six.
The initial press release said the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police “initiated an investigation and through investigative efforts uncovered evidence that led investigators to believe that Mr. MacLean was the victim of a homicide,” which led to the transfer of the case to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
Police did not go into details about the evidence found, but said the actor’s body was located in the Lions Bay area.
A representative for the actor did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
Ms McLean, 45, was first reported missing on May 18 after being last seen at her home in Lions Bay on May 15.
The agency went on to say it will continue to “work closely with IHIT” and “proceed with the investigation” with additional support from the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS).
Canadian authorities are asking anyone with information to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
In addition to starring in “Virgin River,” MacLean also has credits on Fox’s “Small Town Murders” and the CW’s DC series “Arrow.”
He recently played a barfly in a 2026 episode of the Netflix drama, which was filmed in British Columbia.
He was also a producer.
His producing credits include the television series “Please Look Away Vol. 2” and “CLOUD Van-Demic!”.
