Stephen Colbert spoke candidly about the moment he found out that none other than supermodel Paulina Porizkova had given him a “hall pass.”
In an episode of “Strike Force Five Returns Celebrating Stephen Colbert” shared on YouTube earlier this month, the talk show host described how he was discussing their “hall passes” over dinner with friends in the early 2000s.
“The guy next to me is called Paulina Porizkova,” he explained. “And this was in the middle of ‘The Colbert Report.’ I pulled out my phone, opened the PEOPLE magazine app on my phone, and I was Paulina Porizkova’s hall pass.”
Colbert’s co-stars Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver and Seth Meyers looked incredulous, saying, “Oh my god!”
“It was a flexibility that I’ve never been able to match,” admitted the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” star, 62.
Porizkova, 61, previously went on a rant about the TV personality during an episode of Good Morning America with host Elizabeth Vargas in 2007.
“Otherwise, I’m already in a very happy marriage, and apparently so is he,” she said. “He’s exactly my type of person. He’s very hot.”
Porizkova then motioned to the camera to call Colbert.
At the time, Colbert responded to a clip on “The Colbert Report,” telling viewers, “I don’t know if I heard that supermodel right.”
Colbert then pulled out a T-shirt he had made that featured Porizkova’s face and a quote about his charm.
She also joked that she was not surprised that Ms Porizkova compared herself to her late husband, musician Ric Ocasek, and found her “hot”.
Porizkova and the Cars frontman married in 1989 and together raised two sons, Jonathan and Oliver, before separating in 2018.
The following year, Ocasek was found dead in his New York City apartment. His cause of death was heart disease.
Porizkova is currently engaged to television writer and producer Jeff Greenstein.
Meanwhile, Colbert married Evelyn McGee in 1993, and the couple have three adult children: Peter, Madeline, and John.
