Variety reports that FX has given the green light to the drama series “Disinherited.”

The show was originally announced for a June 2025 pilot order on Basic Cable. As previously reported, the show will be produced by Peter Gould and will star Victoria Pedretti, Kyra Allen, Karl Glusman, Alan Ruck, Katja Herbers, Eddie Marsan and Jonathan Higginbotham.

The show’s logline states that Pedretti and Allen star as “wayward sisters whose unexpected inheritance thrusts them into a world of multigenerational wealth and long-buried crime.”

“‘Disinherited’ is the bold, character-driven storytelling that truly defines FX,” said Gina Balian, president of FX Entertainment. “With Peter Gould at the helm, this is a very human story about family, power and consequences, with high moral stakes. And at the center of it all is a pair of sisters you can’t help but root for as you watch this David vs. Goliath story unfold.”

Gould is the writer and executive producer of Disinherited, and also directed the pilot. T Street’s Rian Johnson, Ram Bergman and Nena Rodrigue will serve as executive producers. FX Productions is the studio.

This is the latest FX series order in recent months. The network also greenlit a “Snowfall” spinoff starring Gail Beene and Isiah John, and a “Far Cry” TV series starring Noah Hawley and Rob Mack.

Gould previously served as co-creator and showrunner of AMC’s hit series “Better Call Saul.” Gould also directed several episodes of the series, including the series finale. He was also the writer and producer of Breaking Bad, of which Better Call Saul was a prequel. His other credits include writing the screenplay for the HBO film “Too Big to Fail.”

Pedretti broke out with her role in Mike Flanagan’s Netflix series “The Haunting of Hill House” and as Love Quinn in the hit Netflix series “You.” She will reteam with Flanagan for “The Haunting of Bly Manor.” She has also appeared in films such as “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,” “Origins,” and “Ponyboy.”

Allen is best known for starring opposite Sarah Paulson in Hulu’s psychological thriller Run. She will next be seen opposite Dennis Quaid and Josh Hutcherson in Jonathan Sobol’s Little Mouse.
