Singer Oliver Tree chronicled a day on his first trip to Brazil in his last social media post before his tragic death on Sunday.
An Instagram Reel shared on Saturday showed the “Life Goes On” hitmaker teaming up with Brazilian influencer Aye Blake for a fun-filled day of soccer, biking, haircuts and cooking.
The video is captioned “Gringo 24 Hours, Brazil,” which literally translates to “Foreigners in Brazil 24 Hours.”
In the background, Tree’s song “Worth Nothing” from “Twisted Fast and Furious: Drifting Tapes (Vonk Vol. 1)” played as the men went about their day.
The clip, which has been viewed 9.7 million times as of press time, was flooded with comments from fans expressing their condolences to the late artist.
Tree was involved in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro and was reported dead on Sunday. He was 32 years old.
The singer, whose real name is Oliver Tree Nickell, has been confirmed as one of the six people killed and injured in the two-plane crash.
He and four others were in one helicopter when it crashed into another helicopter carrying only one person.
Other victims include passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim (also known as Argentine YouTuber Gaspi), Lucas Brito Chavez, and pilots Alexandre Sousa and Charles Marsillac.
According to CNN, the two planes collided in mid-air while flying over an electric vehicle yard. The crash caused at least 20 cars to burst into flames.
Local police told the media that a forensic investigation has been requested and the case is ongoing.
Tree had visited South American countries during his world travels. They were scheduled to play a show in São Paulo on June 6th and continue the tour in Lisbon on July 13th.
The artist was accustomed to traveling by helicopter. His social media reveals that he most recently took a helicopter ride to perform at the EDC music festival in Las Vegas in May.
Born in Santa Cruz, California, Tree first rose to fame in 2010 at the age of 17 and began working with big names like Skrillex and Zeds Dead under the nickname “Tree.”
He released his last studio album, “Love You Madly, Hate You Badly,” in April.
