Tom Cruise’s love of movies is well-documented, from his high-stakes stunts promoting Mission: Impossible to hitting the theaters to cheer on the latest blockbusters like Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day, Ryan Coogler’s Thinners, and the pop culture phenomenon known as Babenheimer.
But there’s no greater testament to Cruise’s love of the art form than the variety of roles he’s played over the years.
On Tuesday, the movie star posted a throwback clip highlighting his greatest roles, from action-packed blockbusters like “Top Gun” and “Edge of Tomorrow,” to dramatic turns in “Rain Man” and “Born on Independence Day,” to crowd-pleasing classics like “Risky Business” and “Jerry Maguire.”
“It has been my privilege to work with countless talented artists and staff to create these characters, stories, and films for you over the past 46 years,” Cruise wrote in the caption of the post. “I’m looking forward to seeing you at the movie!”
The clip ends with a trailer for Cruise’s latest film, Digger, from director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. The film features one of his biggest transformations to date, becoming Digger Rockwell.
Cruise, with his thick Southern accent, beer belly, and thinning gray hair (unconvincingly combed out), plays an oil tycoon whose company may have caused an environmental disaster that could potentially lead to nuclear war. John Goodman plays an ailing U.S. president who pleads with Cruz’s character to fix the mess he’s caused. Riz Ahmed, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons also star in the Warner Bros. film, which is described as a “comedy of devastating proportions.”
The trailer for ‘Digger’ was released on July 13th and the movie is scheduled to be released in theaters on October 2nd.

The lineup also includes “Following Siegfried,” which explores the hidden legacy of America’s largest Nazi movement.
Also added to the lineup is Saba, a short film about a boy and his grandfather who live in a surreal world where gravity is reversed. “Father Figures” is a personal documentary about a daughter reuniting with her emotionally distant father. and “Triple Mitzvah,” set during Rosh Hashanah, when a married lesbian couple invites an escort to spend the weekend with them.
Other titles include “Deadclass, Ohio,” which explores intergenerational memory and inherited trauma at a Jewish cemetery in suburban Ohio. “The Goldsmith” depicts a first-generation American through the story of her family’s golden jewels, from Iraq to Israel to the United States. “Alef Bet” is a podcast that explores the evolution of Jewish lifestyle through the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Normandy is a documentary video game that follows salvage crews who dive from the wreck of a transatlantic liner after World War II.
Reboot Studios’ 2026 goals aim to respond to both the demands of creators and the changing media landscape that will help shape a new generation of Jewish storytelling.
