Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe’s son Deacon lived up to his father’s image at the Elle premiere on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old recreated his father’s red carpet look at the 2001 Legally Blonde premiere in a black suit, Ray-Ban sunglasses and pink tie.
He had his hair slicked back.
Witherspoon wore a pink dress, just like she did when she celebrated the first series with her then-husband more than a decade ago.
However, this was a custom Montserrat number that featured off-the-shoulder puff sleeves.
The “I Know What You Did Last Summer” actor, 51, was her date at the time and attended the premiere of “Legally Blonde 2” two years later.
In 2006, the former couple declared divorce after seven years of marriage.
The two have since co-parented Deacon and his 26-year-old sister Ava, but Deacon did not attend Tuesday night’s New York City event. Her son Tennessee, 13, from her second marriage to Oscar-winning actress Jim Toth, was also absent.
The “Legally Blonde” prequel series “Elle” was released on Prime Video on July 1 and depicts the high school years of a young Elle Woods.
Witherspoon was all smiles posing for photos with the show’s star, Lexi Minnettree, who recently borrowed a Marc Jacobs dress worn by Witherspoon to the same premiere in 2001 for an interview on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
Minetree was a big hit at the premiere in a voluminous Betsey Johnson custom dress that was, of course, soft pink.
But it was Deacon who social media users on Tuesday dubbed Witherspoon’s “twin.”
“He has her whole face,” one fan exclaimed on Instagram, while another wrote, “He’s literally the male version of her.”
Phillip said this in 2021 when he disagreed with rumors about Deacon being his mini-me.
After claiming that Deacon was “much better looking” at the time, the actor explained to E! News, “Obviously, there are father-son similarities. But really, he’s more like Reese’s side of the family. Eva’s more like me.”
In addition to Deacon and Ava, Philip is also father to 14-year-old daughter Kai with ex Alexis Knapp.
